Support for the attorney general<\/p>\n
I would like to comment on and at the same time give my
\nsupport to the steps taken by Attorney General Baharuddin Lopa to
\nenforce the law. I do hope that the attorney general is serious
\nin carrying out this task and not merely making empty promises.
\nThe public is already fed up with the country's so-called efforts
\nat law enforcement, while in reality notorious corruptors,
\nparticularly those in the legislature, are not only hanging
\naround enjoying their freedom, but also feeling like the saviors
\nof the nation.<\/p>\n
The corruptors are everywhere: in the legislative and
\nexecutive branches and in other institutions. The most elusive
\nones -- as slick as eels -- are those in the legislative body,
\nbecause they use their political parties as a shield. When the
\nauthorities try to get them, they say their arrest is tainted by
\npolitics. The public does not care about these excuses, what
\nmatters for them is that the corruptors are arrested and brought
\nto justice.<\/p>\n
I will pray that Baharudin Lopa has the guts and will not be
\ndictated to by the statements of the elite and politicians who
\nprevent the arrest of the corruptors in the legislature by giving
\nvarious excuses. Law enforcement must begin from the legislative
\nbody (because they are said to represent the people). Prior to
\nthe arrest of other plunderers of smaller amounts, as a form of
\nshock therapy and a deterrent these corruptors in the legislature
\nmust first be rounded up. Therefore, others will have to think
\ntwice before committing such offenses.<\/p>\n
