Support for SPI<\/p>\n

I support the plan of the Indonesian Association of Attorneys
\n(SPI) to file a class action against the Jakarta Council. This is
\na necessary step to take as it will serve as a lesson to the
\nCouncilors for ignoring the aspirations of the people they are
\nsupposed to represent.<\/p>\n
Today only the press can exercise control over the performance
\nof the regional legislative assembly. The central governing
\nboards of political parties, which should exercise control over
\nthe performance of their members in the regional legislative
\nassembly, have not done anything.<\/p>\n
Political parties only collect money for the general election
\nand for the welfare of their own activists. They never respond to
\npopular aspirations of the people in the period between general
\nelections.<\/p>\n
As a good citizen, I'm pleased to hear of the initiative taken
\nby SPI for a class action against the legislative assembly in
\nJakarta. In this way they have shown a timely response to the
\ndisappointment of the community over their \"missing\"
\nrepresentatives.<\/p>\n
To gain more support from the community, it is necessary for
\nSPI to collect the signatures of the residents. I believe many
\nwill give their support to this idea.<\/p>\n
