        "content": "<p>The government has issued several follow-up instructions following\nthe announcement of the work-from-home (WFH) policy every Friday for\ncivil servants (ASN). This policy is designed to achieve savings in\nresponse to the high global oil prices resulting from the war in the\nMiddle East region. The WFH policy for ASN will be further regulated\nthrough a circular letter (SE) issued by the Minister of Home Affairs\n(Mendagri) and the Minister for State Apparatus Utilization and\nBureaucratic Reform (PANRB). ASN undertaking WFH every Friday are\nrequired to keep their mobile phones active during working hours. This\nprovision is implemented so that the presence of ASN can be monitored\nthrough the location features available on every smartphone. \u201cTo ensure\nthat ASN are truly carrying out work from home and their mobile phones\nare also requested to be active so that their location can be known\nthrough geolocation,\u201d said Mendagri Tito Karnavian during a virtual\npress conference on Tuesday (31\/3\/2026). The policy refers to Circular\nLetter Number 800.1.5\/3349\/SJ on the Transformation of ASN Work Culture\nin the Regional Government Environment, issued on 31 March 2026. The\ncircular emphasises that ASN working from home must be at their\nregistered place of residence or domicile. Tito explained that the\ncircular also contains several technical guidelines for regional heads\nregarding the implementation of WFH in the regional government\nenvironment. \u201cIncluding efforts to encourage digital services, then\nelectronic signing, the human resource management information system as\nmentioned by the Coordinating Minister for the Economy,\u201d said Tito. \u201cFor\nall ASN, we will continue to conduct evaluations of PPPK and evaluations\nof performance,\u201d said Rini during the press conference. She stated that\nthe Ministry of PANRB has provided an application to evaluate the\nperformance of those state apparatus.<\/p>",
