        "content": "<p>PT Summarecon Agung Tbk (Summarecon) has once again organised a Free\nCataract Surgery Social Service programme as part of its 50th\nanniversary celebrations.<\/p>\n<p>Executive Director of Summarecon Agung, Hindarko Hasan, stated that\nthe programme was held to continue the company\u2019s ongoing commitment to\nimproving the quality of public health. \u201cThis activity is a tangible\nmanifestation of Summarecon\u2019s commitment to sharing benefits with the\nwider community. We believe that healthy vision is key to living life\noptimally,\u201d Hindarko said in a statement on Tuesday, 2 June 2026.<\/p>\n<p>Following successful implementations in Tangerang and Bogor, this\nsocial programme has entered its third phase in Bandung City, marking\nthe final instalment of the social service series. He explained that the\nprogramme is a collaborative effort between Summarecon Bandung, the\nBuddha Tzu Chi Indonesia Foundation, the Ministry of Social Affairs of\nthe Republic of Indonesia, the West Java Provincial Government, the\nBandung City Health Office, and Murni Teguh Naripan Bandung\nHospital.<\/p>\n<p>The surgeries took place on 30 May 202&lt;0xA0&gt;6 at Murni Teguh\nNaripan Bandung Hospital, supported by ophthalmologists and experienced\nmedical personnel. Hendarko added that, in addition to the surgical\nprocedures, the programme includes post-operative care such as the\nprovision of medication and follow-up observations on the day after\nsurgery to ensure an optimal recovery process. \u201cThis is to ensure that\nall patients receive comprehensive healthcare until their vision is\nmaximally restored,\u201d said Hendarko.<\/p>\n<p>Through this programme, Summarecon hopes that patients can regain\nclear vision and achieve a better quality of life. Hendarko also\nexpressed his appreciation and gratitude to all parties that supported\nthe event, as well as to all partners who collaborated to provide\nbroader healthcare access to the community.<\/p>\n<p>Public enthusiasm for the programme was evident, with 244 applicants\nfrom Bandung City and Regency, as well as other regions including\nBekasi, Subang, Garut, Tasikmalaya, and Majalengka. Based on health\nscreenings conducted on 23 May 2026 at Plaza Summarecon Bandung, 104\npatients were deemed eligible for surgery, consisting of 102 cataract\npatients and 2 pterygium patients (a condition where conjunctival tissue\ngrows onto the cornea).<\/p>",
