        "content": "<p>Sumedang (ANTARA) \u2014 Sumedang District Police in West Java\nsuccessfully foiled a planned youth brawl disguised as a sarong fight\nthat a group of young people intended to carry out in the Sawah Pojom\narea on Jalan Naluk in the early hours of Sunday.<\/p>\n<p>Sumedang Police Chief Senior Commissioner Sandityo Mahardika\nexplained that his officers had detained ten youths along with evidence\nas part of the prevention effort.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis action was part of our Ramadan patrol operations. Police\ndetained ten youths along with evidence, including eight sarongs filled\nwith stones intended for the sarong fight,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>He explained that officers had also confiscated a number of other\nitems as evidence, including one short ruler and one long ruler that had\nbeen sharpened, one machete, and seven motorcycles.<\/p>\n<p>All the youths were taken to Sumedang Police headquarters for data\nrecording, counselling, and parental notification before being returned\nto their families.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, he also explained that the force continuously conducts a\ncombination of preventive and educational patrols during Ramadan to\nmaintain public security and order within the Sumedang Regency\njurisdiction.<\/p>\n<p>He added that routine patrols led by Traffic Unit Head Inspector Agus\nSukaerdi Suryana are conducted from 21:30 local time, focusing on\neducational patrols, curfew enforcement for students, tackling thuggery,\ndrug eradication, and prevention of burglary, robbery and vehicle\ntheft.<\/p>\n<p>In addition to routine patrols, Sumedang Police also conduct dialogic\nafternoon patrols at 16:00 local time through the Public Order Unit to\ndeliver public order advisories in a humane manner to residents going\nabout their afternoon activities.<\/p>\n<p>Police Chief Mahardika added that maintaining a conducive environment\nis not solely the responsibility of the police but must involve all\nelements of society.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe invite all elements of society to work together in keeping our\narea conducive. Synergy between the police, parents, schools, and the\ncommunity is essential in preventing juvenile delinquency and public\norder disturbances,\u201d he concluded.<\/p>",
