The Ministry of Social Affairs has been tasked by the President
through a task force guided by the Home Affairs Minister to distribute
disaster relief including compensation for deceased and injured victims,
social-economic stimulus aid, housing support, and three months of
living guarantees,” said Gus Ipul in a written statement on Monday (25
May 2026). He made the remarks during a coordination meeting of the
House of Representatives’ Post-Disaster Recovery Task Force and the
Sumatra Post-Disaster Rehabilitation and Reconstruction (PRR) Task Force
at the Nusantara IV Building, DPR RI, Jakarta. In his presentation, Gus
Ipul stated that the first phase of disaster relief has been fully
distributed. The next phase will see the Ministry of Social Affairs
disburse over Rp1 trillion in further aid. “Disbursements are based on
verified data from several regencies and cities in Aceh, North Sumatra,
and West Sumatra,” Gus Ipul said. Regarding the proposal to expand
PBI-JK coverage for Aceh’s disaster-affected citizens, previously raised
by Aceh Deputy Governor Fadhlullah, Gus Ipul confirmed the Ministry of
Social Affairs has accommodated over 400,000 additional PBI-JK
beneficiaries in Aceh. Meanwhile, Muhammad Tito Karnavian, Chair of the
Sumatra Post-Disaster PRR Task Force and Indonesia’s Home Affairs
Minister, reported two key points during the coordination meeting.
Namely, an update on the current situation and future government plans,
particularly the approval of the Master Plan for Post-Disaster
Rehabilitation and Reconstruction (PRR) in Sumatra. “We are now moving
towards permanent recovery. The three phases are emergency response,
transition, and then the permanent phase, which we call rehabilitation
and reconstruction. The key is the Master Plan,” Tito said. Tito
revealed the proposed budget for permanent recovery amounts to Rp100.166
trillion, with allocations of Rp38.9 trillion in 2026, Rp32.9 trillion
in 2027, and Rp28.2 trillion in 2028. “The total budget we proposed has
been approved at the government level, and we reported this to the DPR
RI Task Force chaired by Professor Sufmi Dasco Ahmad, who also supported
it. The amount is Rp100.166 trillion over three years,” Tito said. The
meeting was attended by DPR RI leaders, Cabinet Ministers of the Merah
Putih administration, and the Governors of Aceh, North Sumatra, and West
Sumatra.
",
