        "content": "<p>Sukamto raises Amcol stake<\/p>\n<p>SINGAPORE (Reuter): Indonesian businessman Sukamto Sia,<br>\npreparing for a boardroom battle later this month, has bought<br>\n1.55 million more shares in trading firm Amcol Holdings Ltd,<br>\nbringing his stake in the company to more than 13 percent.<\/p>\n<p>A Stock Exchange of Singapore statement said on Wednesday<br>\nBeswill Investments Pte Ltd, Sukamto's private company, bought<br>\nthe shares on the open market for Singapore $3.89 each on<br>\nTuesday, bringing the total number of shares it holds in Amcol to<br>\n38.99 million.<\/p>\n<p>Sukamto recently called for an extraordinary general meeting<br>\n(EGM) to overthrow Amcol's 13-member board led by another<br>\nIndonesian businessman Henry Pribadi and appoint himself and his<br>\nnominees in their place.<\/p>\n<p>Pribadi, currently Amcol's managing director, is its biggest<br>\nshareholder with a 17.9 percent stake.<\/p>\n<p>Sukamto recently lost a battle to take control of Hong Kong-<br>\nlisted Sum Cheong International and also resigned as chairman of<br>\nSingapore-listed Transmarco Ltd.<\/p>",
