        "content": "<p>Foreign Minister of Indonesia Sugiono stated that Indonesia and the\nPhilippines are continuously enhancing cooperation in the defence\nsector, particularly in the industrial aspect.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThere are several aircraft made by PT Dirgantara Indonesia that are\nused by the Philippine side, and that is what we want to strengthen our\ncooperation on,\u201d Sugiono said after a bilateral meeting with Philippine\nForeign Minister Theresa Lazaro in Jakarta on Thursday.<\/p>\n<p>Sugiono said Indonesia is opening opportunities for the Philippines\nto procure defence equipment made in Indonesia through the applicable\nprocurement mechanisms.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are also offering possibilities for them to procure defence\nequipment from Indonesia, of course, all through their internal\nmechanisms,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe all know that the ethnic groups among our tribes, especially in\nNorth Sulawesi and in the Philippines, many of whom are family\nrelations. So, we have succeeded in carrying out the registration and\nidentification process,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>Through the registration and identification process, Sugiono said,\naround 8,000 people of Indonesian descent and about 800 people of\nFilipino descent have been recorded, who will subsequently be granted\nrights according to their respective citizenships.<\/p>\n<p>The Indonesian Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that the\nPhilippines is one of Indonesia\u2019s main trading partners in Southeast\nAsia, with bilateral trade value in 2025 reaching $12.02 billion\n(Rp207.6 trillion).<\/p>\n<p>The Philippines is also an important partner in strengthening energy\nresilience and is included as Indonesia\u2019s largest coal export market in\nthe region.<\/p>\n<p>Indonesia and the Philippines also cooperate in the energy and\nstrategic minerals sector, including through the Indonesia-Philippines\nCritical Minerals Partnership and nickel alliance to strengthen the\nglobal supply chain and downstream industries.<\/p>",
