I am very concerned about the row occurring in the Satya
\nWacana Christian University in Salatiga, Central Java. What
\nsurprises me is how university people, who are basically
\nacademic, rational and well versed with scientific methods and
\nfamiliar with various forums of problem solving, have difficulty
\nsorting out problems within their own organization. The abundant
\nknowledge they possess must not be intended for other parties
\nonly but should be applied in their own university.<\/p>\n
I know the problem is not a simple matter. But it is here the
\nacademicians are challenged, to make complicated matter simple.
\nAnd not the other way around. The intelligent people at the Satya
\nWacana university are inclined to complicate a simple matter.<\/p>\n
I have three questions, which answered, I feel would help get
\nthe bottleneck cleared. (1) What is the problem? (2) What caused
\nthe problem? (3) What is the best alternative to solving the
\nproblem?<\/p>\n
To answer these questions you need positive thinking, peaceful
\nminds and the political will to sacrifice from all parties. This
\nis really the most difficult thing to do, as each party is trying
\nto defend its argument and claim it to be absolutely right.<\/p>\n
I would just like to emphasize that history shows
\ninconsistency and a management which is not in line with the
\nvision and mission of the organization will cause it to lose its
\nvirtues. If that is the case the organization will be no more
\nthan a mummy with no brains, sense or intelligence.<\/p>\n
