Jakarta, VIVA \u2013 The head of the National Nutrition Agency (BGN),\nSudaryono, said he wants the BGN Supervisory Board to be filled by\ncompetent professional personnel.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe key point is that we want this supervisory board to be overseen\nby competent people,\u201d Sudaryono told reporters at the BGN office in\nCentral Jakarta on Wednesday, 29 July 2026.<\/p>\n
He said he would propose nutritionists through to paediatricians to\njoin the BGN Supervisory Board. Sudaryono believes the presence of\nnutritionists and paediatricians is essential for the continuity of the\nFree Nutritious Meals (MBG) programme run by the BGN.<\/p>\n
\u201cYes, one of the things we want to propose includes several\nnutritionists, then a paediatrician, a nutrition specialist doctor, an\nobstetrician \u2013 these are indeed needed. Including a chef who can give\ntips and so on,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
Sudaryono stressed that his side is open to and welcomes all input\nfor the MBG programme going forward.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe will certainly be very grateful if we are helped by professional\npersonnel who are truly experts in their fields,\u201d Sudaryono\nconcluded.<\/p>\n
Previously reported, the Presidential Palace, through the Minister of\nState Secretary (Mensesneg) of the Republic of Indonesia, Prasetyo Hadi,\nspoke out about the issue of Nanik S Deyang, who is set to become a\nmember of the National Nutrition Agency (BGN) Supervisory Board.<\/p>\n
Prasetyo revealed that President Prabowo Subianto had indeed asked\nNanik to fill the position. He explained that Nanik still has sufficient\nexperience to assist the BGN.<\/p>\n
\u201cYes, that was a request from the President. Because her experience\nis considered still useful in helping the BGN,\u201d Prasetyo Hadi told\nreporters at the Senayan parliamentary complex in Jakarta on Thursday,\n23 July 2026.<\/p>\n
Prasetyo also responded to questions regarding Presidential\nRegulation (Perpres) No.\u00a083 of 2024, under which the BGN\u2019s\norganisational structure only includes a Steering Board, not a\nSupervisory Board.<\/p>\n
Prasetyo asserted that the meaning of a Steering Board is essentially\nthe same as a Supervisory Board. In his view, the public should not get\ncaught up in the terminology.<\/p>\n
\u201cActually, the meaning can be the same, whether it is a Steering\nBoard or a Supervisory Board in terms of carrying out its duties. Our\npoint is that perhaps we should not get trapped in the terminology of\nwhich is which.
