Head of the National Nutrition Agency (BGN) Sudaryono has asserted\nthat the agency will fully support the law enforcement process\nconcerning alleged corruption currently implicating several parties\nwithin the BGN. Nevertheless, he has asked all employees to continue\nworking optimally and not to become mired in pessimism due to the\ncase.<\/p>\n
This was conveyed by Sudaryono after chairing his first meeting with\nBGN officials at the BGN office in Central Jakarta on Wednesday\n(22\/7\/2026).<\/p>\n
\u201cLegal matters are the business of law enforcement. Therefore, we\nfully hand over the investigation, we fully hand over the inquiry and\nprobe to the law enforcers who are upholding the law regarding the\ngovernance issues we faced previously,\u201d Sudaryono said.<\/p>\n
Sudaryono stressed that as the new Head of BGN, he is ready to\nprovide support if needed in the ongoing legal process. \u201cIn essence, I,\nas the new head of the agency, we will support whatever is needed in law\nenforcement, we will provide it,\u201d he stated.<\/p>\n
However, Sudaryono reminded that the legal process should not cause\nthe entire BGN staff to lose their spirit in implementing the Free\nNutritious Meals (MBG) programme. \u201cBut we must not then sink into\npessimism and then lack enthusiasm in carrying out this service,\u201d he\nsaid.<\/p>\n
He acknowledged that there are a number of employees who are now\nwitnesses or suspects in the legal case. According to him, they must\nfollow the legal process according to the provisions, while other\nemployees remain focused on working.<\/p>\n
\u201cI want my team members who have legal cases, perhaps those who are\nwitnesses, perhaps those who are suspects and so on, to follow the\nprocess. We are ready to provide full support for law enforcement, but\nthe National Nutrition Agency must continue to work optimally,\u201d he\nstressed.<\/p>\n
Sudaryono also invited all BGN staff to rise and make the existing\nproblems a momentum to improve the institution\u2019s governance. \u201cSo I want\nto invite the entire team not to get mired in this pessimism and\nsadness. So we must be optimistic, we can solve this problem, and we\nbelieve that this programme is good, and we will then improve its\ngovernance,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
According to Sudaryono, one focus of the reform is to build a more\ntransparent system so that it no longer depends on individuals. \u201cWhat\nwas previously dark must become light, what was perhaps not transparent\nmust become transparent. What was perhaps manual, dependent on\nindividual persons, must no longer depend on individual persons, it must\nbe by system, trust in the system,\u201d he explained.<\/p>\n
On the same occasion, Sudaryono also allowed employees who feel\nunable to continue their duties at the BGN to request a transfer. \u201cThose\ndealing with legal matters, let them deal with legal matters. Those who\nare not, we must work. Not everyone is involved. We adhere to the\npresumption of innocence, leave it to the authorities. Those who are not\ninvolved must work,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
\u201cIf you feel burdened, I ask that perhaps some people in certain\npositions may submit a letter, for example if they wish to return to\nanother institution, or if they want to move or whatever, I will allow\nit.
