Subdistricts lack office rent funds<\/p>\n
TANGERANG (JP): At least 13 subdistricts in Cipondoh district
\nhere are short of funds to extend their office rentals and could
\nface eviction, an official said on Tuesday.<\/p>\n
Head of Kenanga subdistrict Suryadi warned evictions would
\ndisrupt services to local residents.<\/p>\n
He said the offices were part of the 21 subdistricts in the
\ndistrict.<\/p>\n
The 13 are relatively new because they were formed from the
\nexpansion of eight former subdistricts, he said, adding this
\naccounted for the lack of their own permanent facilities.<\/p>\n
"I have no plan to rent another house for the subdistrict
\noffice, even though the existing one will expire by the end of
\nthis month," Suryadi said. He added rent varied from Rp 2 million
\nto Rp 5 million per annum.<\/p>\n
Head of Cipondoh district Harry Mulya Zein admitted most of
\nthe leases for the 13 subdistrict offices expired between April
\nand May.<\/p>\n
Harry explained rental funds were formerly provided by the
\nTangerang mayoralty, and additional fund allocations were needed
\nfor the subdistricts.<\/p>\n
Subdistricts whose leases end soon are Poris Pelawat Utara,
\nPoris Pelawat Indah, Cipondoh Makmur, Cipondoh Indah, Kenanga,
\nKetapang, Noroktok, Sudimara Pinang, Kunciran Jaya, Kunciran
\nInjah, Panunggangan Timur, Panunggangan Utara and Kakojan.<\/p>\n

\nRosid, said funds for the subdistricts' office rental had been
\nproposed to the mayor, M.H. Thamrin.<\/p>\n
"We will check on the owners of the houses rented for the
\nsubdistrict offices. We will pay the rental fees," Rosid said.<\/p>\n
He said the mayoralty would build two subdistrict offices to
\nbe financed in the mayoralty's 1999\/2000 budget, but gave no
