        "content": "<p>Subdistrict heads get motorcycles<\/p>\n<p>KEBUMEN, Central Java: Kebumen regency has spent Rp 1.25<br>\nbillion of the regional budget to provide motorcycles for 125<br>\nsubdistrict heads.<\/p>\n<p>By 2005, all 460 subdistrict heads in the regency will have<br>\nobtained the vehicles, Regent Rustriningsih said on Thursday.<\/p>\n<p>Rustriningsih, who is a member of the Indonesia Democratic<br>\nParty for Struggle (PDI Perjuangan), said there was no political<br>\nmotives behind the gift to the subdistrict heads.<\/p>\n<p>Many subdistrict heads ride their private vehicles to go to<br>\ntheir offices.<\/p>\n<p>She said that the motorcycles would be useful for the<br>\nsubdistrict heads, particularly those who are assigned in areas<br>\nprone to natural disasters.<\/p>\n<p>By riding motorcycles, Rustriningsih expected the subdistrict<br>\nheads could arrive in disaster-affected areas faster so that they<br>\ncould take immediate actions to deal with the disasters.<\/p>\n<p>She said heads of remote or disaster-prone subdistricts or<br>\nthose who pay their taxes on time will be the first to receive<br>\nthe motorcycles. -- JP<\/p>",
