        "content": "<p>Study on Sriwijaya<\/p>\n<p>PALEMBANG, South Sumatra: South Sumatra Governor Ramli Hasan<br>\nBasri said the Ancient Sriwijaya Kingdom Park, which will be<br>\ninaugurated by President Soeharto this month, will become a<br>\ncenter for research into the Hindu kingdom that once ruled<br>\nIndonesia.<\/p>\n<p>The site will be used for archeological work, Ramli said to<br>\nreporters as he introduced the park on Saturday.<\/p>\n<p>Archeological workers dug out a plaque dating back to the year<br>\n682 which said that the area was part of the Sriwijaya kingdom,<br>\naccording to Antara.<\/p>\n<p>Historians are still debating over the precise location of the<br>\nseat of the kingdom, trying to determine whether it is located in<br>\npresent-day Palembang in Jambi further north.<\/p>\n<p>The 15-hectare park is located near the Musi River, where the<br>\nlocal government has built three buildings, one of which is used<br>\nas a museum.
