        "content": "<p>Students march for special session<\/p>\n<p>PADANG, West Sumatra: Thousands of students marched to the<br>\nprovincial legislative building on Tuesday calling for an<br>\nexpedited special session of the People's Consultative Assembly<br>\nto impeach President Abdurrahman Wahid.<\/p>\n<p>The protest -- jointly held by members of Student Solidarity<br>\nfor the People and students from Padang State University and IAIN<br>\nImam Bonjol Padang -- caused traffic to back up in the area.<\/p>\n<p>The students forced their way into the governor's office<br>\ndespite being told by the chief of the provincial legislature's<br>\ngeneral affairs bureau, Yusman Kasim, that Governor Zainal Bakar<br>\nwas in the North Sumatra capital Medan.<\/p>\n<p>The protesters then tore down a portrait of President<br>\nAbdurrahman Wahid that was hanging near the governor's office.<\/p>\n<p>\"We also demand the amount of money allotted for education in<br>\nthe provincial budget be increased to 20 percent from 7.2<br>\npercent,\" one of the protesters, Effendi, said.<\/p>\n<p>The protesters eventually dispersed peacefully.
