Students held for extortion<\/p>\n
The Makassar police subprecinct in East Jakarta detained six
\nstudents for allegedly extorting money and valuables from public
\nbus passengers, a police report said on Friday.<\/p>\n
The six were among 20 students arrested on Thursday after
\npolice received reports from bus passengers that the boys had
\nthreatened them with sharp weapons on Thursday afternoon.<\/p>\n
According to the report, the six were held for further
\nquestioning because police found them in possession of sharp
\nweapons.<\/p>\n
The public bus was P9 Mayasari Bakti, plying the Bekasi-
\nKampung Rambutan route.<\/p>\n
Several bus passengers reported to a local police post at the
\nTaman Mini Indonesia Indah intersection immediately after a group
\nof high school students who had been riding on the bus began
\nextorting money and other valuables from the passengers.<\/p>\n
Police officers moved fast and managed to apprehend the
\nstudents, who were not far from the police post. --JP<\/p>",
