Students briefly stranded in Seoul<\/p>\n
SURABAYA: Some 20 students and three lecturers from Surabaya-
\nbased Christian Petra University were briefly stranded at the
\nSeoul immigration office while on their way to attend a joint art
\nexhibition with Dongseo University in Pusan, South Korea.<\/p>\n
Petra University spokesperson Lusy Puspita said in Surabaya on
\nSunday that the entourage, which had left Jakarta on Oct. 21, had
\nbeen barred from entering Seoul because they did not bring with
\nthem their invitation from Dongseo University.<\/p>\n
In addition to the Indonesian entourage were four other
\nforeigners, from India, Malaysia, Thailand and Vietnam.<\/p>\n
\"The immigration officer tried to contact Dongseo University
\nbut failed since the group arrived early in the morning and there
\nwas no-one at the university, so they were taken to the
\ninterrogation room,\" Lusy said.<\/p>\n
The group was finally allowed to leave the immigration office
\nafter a Dongseo University professor confirmed that the foreign
\nstudents had been invited by the university.<\/p>\n
