        "content": "<p>STUD gets $29m loan<\/p>\n<p>JAKARTA (JP): PT Sumatera Timber Utama Damai (STUD), a plywood<br>\nproducer based in Batam, has secured a syndicated loan worth<br>\nUS$29 the company's president said Friday.<\/p>\n<p>Sudjono Halim said the loan would refinance the company's<br>\nloans.<\/p>\n<p>\"But we will use part of the loan to replace machinery and<br>\nincrease efficiency,\" Bisnis Indonesia quoted him as saying.<\/p>\n<p>He said the loan signed Friday was made jointly by the<br>\nSingapore branch of BHF-Bank Akltiengesellschaft and Bank Dagang<br>\nNasional Indonesia.<\/p>\n<p>Sudjono said other banks in the syndicate were Commerzbank<br>\nAktiengesellschaft, Bank Bumi Malaysia, Industrial and Commercial<br>\nBank, Maybank International, the Daichi Kangyo bank Ltd and Sanwa<br>\nBank Indonesia.<\/p>\n<p>He said Sumatera Timber booked net sales of Rp 246 billion in<br>\nthe financial year to December, 1996.
