        "content": "<p>National Economic Council (DEN) Chairman Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan is\nconfident that the implementation of the Free Nutritious Meal (MBG)\nprogramme will improve considerably within the next six months to a\nyear. \u201cI am confident that in six months, a year from now, it will\ndefinitely be much better,\u201d Luhut said at the DEN office in Jakarta on\nWednesday, 24 June 2026. He also stated that the MBG programme, one of\nPresident Prabowo\u2019s priority government initiatives, has a multiplier\neffect that will help drive national economic growth. \u201cWe also have an\ninterest in ensuring the MBG programme boosts economic growth, because\nit is essentially about equitable distribution. Rp 1 trillion in budget\nfunds flowing down to the grassroots has a huge impact,\u201d he said.\nAlthough he acknowledged that the MBG programme was implemented in a\nrush, leading to a number of problems, Luhut asked the public not to\ncontinually find fault with the programme. He assured that the\ngovernment is currently improving the MBG programme so that its future\nimplementation will be better. \u201cPerhaps we were a bit too hasty\npreviously, so many issues arose. So there is no need to make too much\nfuss, as everything is being resolved properly,\u201d Luhut said.\nFurthermore, Luhut conveyed that the government must now undertake\nvarious efficiency measures within the MBG programme. He even questioned\nwhy the programme had to be rolled out all at once, arguing that it\nshould be implemented in stages. \u201cActually, further efficiency is\nneeded.
