The Bogor City Government has demolished several street vendor (PKL)\nstalls around the former Plaza and Pasar Bogor in the Suryakencana area\nof Bogor City. The enforcement is part of the plan to reorganise the\nformer Plaza and Pasar Bogor area, which will be turned into a parking\nbuilding and a culinary zone.<\/p>\n
Bogor Mayor Dedie A Rachim stated that no more buying and selling\ntransactions are allowed on the land of the former Plaza and Pasar\nBogor. Dedie asked the vendors to trade at two relocation points: Pasar\nJambu Dua and Pasar Gembrong Sukasari.<\/p>\n
\u201cSo we ensure that, in accordance with the agreement last November,\nPKL in the Pasar Bogor and Plaza Bogor areas will no longer trade around\nhere, and we encourage all to go to Pasar Jambu Dua and Pasar Gembrong\nSukasari,\u201d said Dedie on Thursday (26\/3\/2026).<\/p>\n
Previously, vendors and stall owners at Pasar Bogor PKL refused to be\ndemolished and held a protest at the Bogor City Hall in November. As a\nresult of the meeting, the Bogor City Government allowed vendors and PKL\nstall owners to trade until Eid al-Fitr.<\/p>\n
\u201cThis is an anticipatory step if there are still naughty vendors, as\nI mentioned yesterday. My message is how we optimise the existence of\nthe two markets we have built. First is Pasar Jambu Dua and Pasar\nGembrong Sukasari,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n
Dedie said that Pasar Jambu Dua and Pasar Gembrong in Sukasari, Bogor\nCity, have been completed renovated and serve as relocation points for\nPlaza and Pasar Bogor vendors. Pasar Jambu Dua, according to Dedie, can\naccommodate 1,200 vendors, and Pasar Gembrong can accommodate 600\nvendors.<\/p>\n
Dedie stated that trading can only be done inside the market area.\nTherefore, there are no PKL stalls trading outside the building and\nharming vendors who have rented kiosks. PKL enforcement is also carried\nout at other points in the Suryakencana area, including Jalan Pedati,\nLawang Saketeng to Jalan Bata.<\/p>\n
\u201cThere are 9,000 vendors in 14 markets in Bogor City that we also\nneed to protect. They buy kiosks, they pay levies, pay electricity, they\ncan\u2019t compete with PKL,\u201d said Dedie.<\/p>\n
Former Pasar and Plaza Bogor Building Becomes Parking Area<\/p>\n
Dedie said that the Suryakencana area will be organised in such a\nway, one of which is the construction of a parking building in the\nformer Plaza and Pasar Bogor area. The development of the parking area\nis hoped to be a solution to congestion around Bogor Botanical\nGardens.<\/p>\n
\u201cSo around the Botanical Gardens, it\u2019s congested, right? Why? It\nturns out that KRB visitors are more than 1 million per year, and there\nare no parking facilities. Why?
