        "content": "<p>Indonesia\u2019s financial sector is undergoing rapid transformation,\ndriven by digital adoption, increased credit demand, and small business\nexpansion. Indonesia is home to approximately 65.5 million micro, small,\nand medium enterprises (UMKMs) employing 119 million people. The Central\nStatistics Agency (BPS) identifies UMKMs as the backbone of Indonesia\u2019s\neconomy, contributing more than 61% of the nation\u2019s gross domestic\nproduct.<\/p>\n<p>Despite their scale, access to finance remains the greatest obstacle\nto UMKM growth. The IMF Article IV 2026 report noted that Indonesian\nUMKMs face significantly higher borrowing costs and more complex loan\napplication procedures compared to similar countries. In response,\nMastercard announced a strategic partnership with Clik Indonesia, a\nprivate credit bureau, to deliver advanced consulting services that\nempower card issuers and financial institutions throughout\nIndonesia.<\/p>\n<p>Chief Digital Transformation Officer of Clik Credit Bureau Lucky\nHerviana explained that the collaboration addresses an urgent market\nneed for optimal, data-driven intelligence and enables lenders to grow\nresponsibly, improve decision-making, and maintain portfolio health. In\nthis high-growth environment, financial institutions face a dual mandate\nto expand credit access whilst safeguarding portfolio health, requiring\nbetter indicators and stronger models.<\/p>\n<p>Clik provides expanded credit history, predictive assessment, and\ndeeper payment insights exceeding data available from official sources\nin Indonesia. Using insights from this data, Mastercard\u2019s global\nadvisors offer actionable strategies to enhance credit assessment\ndecisions, support sustainable portfolio growth, and strengthen debt\nrecovery.
