Strange legal cases<\/p>\n
In Indonesia guru means a school teacher but in America a guru
\nis a person who gives religious or spiritual guidance to his or
\nher many followers.<\/p>\n
The Dec. 15 edition of Newsweek reported that such a guru in
\nAmerica had a relationship with a girl, who was later found dead
\nin the guru's apartment. He fled to France and subsequently
\nmarried a Swedish woman.<\/p>\n
Naturally, the United States requested the French government
\nto extradite the guru. But the unbelievable happened. The French
\ncourt, after refusing to extradite the murderer, instead declared
\nthe guru a free man.<\/p>\n
CNN had another story on Dec. 14 in which a suspected murderer
\nin the United States fled to Mexico. The Mexican government
\nrejected the U.S. request to extradite the suspect because the
\nman would have faced the death penalty in the United States if
\nfound guilty.<\/p>\n
