        "content": "<p>The Passenger Motor Ship (KMP) Samudra Utama, which ran aground at\nthe LCM Pier of Gilimanuk Port, Jembrana Regency, Bali, was successfully\nevacuated on Monday (18\/05\/2026). The vessel had been stuck since Sunday\n(17\/05\/2026).<\/p>\n<p>The ship managed to perform a reverse manoeuvring manoeuvre after the\ntide rose on Monday at approximately 09:00 WITA.<\/p>\n<p>The Commander of the Gilimanuk Naval Post, Lieutenant Yuli Prasetyo,\nexplained that various efforts had been made to free the vessel.\nHowever, because the ship was firmly lodged against the edge of the\npier, the evacuation process had to wait for the high tide.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis morning at 09:00 WITA, it was freed from the grounding and\ndocked at the LCM Pier of Gilimanuk Port,\u201d Yuli stated when confirmed on\nMonday.<\/p>\n<p>Yuli explained that the grounding of KMP Samudra Utama in the Bali\nStrait had triggered a ripple effect on crossing activities between\nKetapang and Gilimanuk. Long vehicle queues had even stretched for\nseveral kilometres.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cLast night, the tail of the queue reached the Naga or Gelungkori\nStatue, approximately 2.5 kilometres from Gilimanuk Port,\u201d he\nexplained.<\/p>\n<p>Nevertheless, Yuli ensured that the traffic flow towards the port has\nnow returned to normal as the pier is fully operational. \u201cThis morning,\nthe situation has eased, and there are no longer queues in the port\nparking area,\u201d Yuli added.<\/p>\n<p>Currently, KMP Samudra Utama is awaiting its loading and unloading\nschedule. The ship is expected to return to its regular route to serve\nthe Bali Strait crossing shortly.<\/p>",
