Storm damages houses in Bandung<\/p>\n

Heavy rain and gale-force winds hit the West Java capital of
\nBandung on Sunday, damaging dozens of houses in Baleendah, some
\n20 kilometers south of the city.<\/p>\n
No injuries or casualties were reported in the storm, which
\noccurred at 2:15 p.m.<\/p>\n
Rina Agustin, a resident from Baleendah village, said the
\nstorm lasted 20 minutes, leaving many house roofs damaged and
\ndozens of trees uprooted.<\/p>\n
\"It happened very fast. Most people remained in their houses
\nbecause it was raining heavily outside,\" Rina said.<\/p>\n
Baleendah Police chief Comr. Fama Dachi said a Corona sedan
\nbelonging to local resident Ade Pahala was reported damaged by a
\nfallen tree on Jl. RAA Wiranatakusumah.<\/p>\n
\"We have had no reports of casualties by this (Sunday)
\nafternoon,\" Fama said.<\/p>\n
Nor were there reports of losses caused by storm.<\/p>\n
The affected houses were located in at least two housing
\ncomplexes in the villages of Baleendah and Andir, residents said.<\/p>\n
Meanwhile, flooding hit three more districts in Cirebon
\nregency, West Java, on Saturday, inundating hundreds of hectares
\nof paddy and hundreds of residential houses.<\/p>\n
The three districts hit by floodwaters are Lemahabang, Karang
\nSembung and Astanajapura, Antara reported.<\/p>\n
The flooding occurred a day after heavy rains pounded the area
\nand the nearby Cimanis and Singaraja rivers overflowed.<\/p>\n
The flooding also cut traffic in the Sindanglaut area in
\nCirebon for three hours on Saturday, disrupting traffic between
\nCirebon and Central Java province. Water on the roads in
\nSindanglaut were reportedly one meter deep.<\/p>\n
