        "content": "<p>Stock clearing at SSX halted<\/p>\n<p>JAKARTA (JP): The Indonesian Central Securities Depository<br>\n(KSEI) and the Indonesian Clearing and Settlement Agency (KPEI)<br>\nsaid on Thursday they would halt all clearing and settlement<br>\nactivities at the Surabaya Stock Exchange (SSX) until trading at<br>\nthe Jakarta Stock Exchange resumed.<\/p>\n<p>A joint statement by KPEI, KSEI and SSX said that although<br>\ntrading at the Surabaya bourse was not affected by Wednesday's<br>\nbomb blast, they would have to halt all clearing and settlement<br>\nactivities.<\/p>\n<p>\"All clearings and settlements for transactions at the SSX<br>\nafter Sept. 14, 2000 would be done simultaneously with the<br>\nreopening of the JSX,\" the statement said as quoted by Antara<br>\nnews agency.<\/p>\n<p>JSX suspended its trading on Wednesday after a car bomb in the<br>\nbourse's parking lot exploded.<\/p>\n<p>Although JSX's trading system is intact, the building owner<br>\nsaid the bourse would remain closed until Monday at the earliest,<br>\ndue to safety concerns and repairs of the building's pipeline<br>\nsystem.
