STIE to hold seminar<\/p>\n
JAKARTA (JP): Sekolah Tinggi Ilmu Ekonomi (STIE) IBEK will
\nhold a two-day seminar on the fundamentals of Asian economies on
\nMarch 12 and 13 at Hotel Horison.<\/p>\n
President of STIE IBEK Laurence A Manullang said yesterday the
\nseminar would feature a single speaker, Donald Wilson, former
\npresident of Pittsburgh State University and current president of
\nKilang Nusantara Pacific Consultants.<\/p>\n
Donald Wilson said topics in the seminar, Asia, the awakening
\ngiant of 21st century, would include an integrated leadership
\nsystem, the power of vision and culture as the major factor in
\nthe world and the Western and Eastern management and leadership
\nstyle.<\/p>\n
Wilson said Indonesia under the leadership of Soeharto had
\nseen much development improvement with the lowering of inflation
\nrates and poverty level, but that little had been invested in
\ndevelopment of human resources and education.<\/p>\n
This was in contrast to Singapore and Malaysia, both of which
\nhad invested large amounts in education and human resource
\ndevelopment. Indonesia had not yet allocated sufficient funds in
