The programme is organised by NS BlueScope, in partnership with the\nAssociation of Siamese Architects under Royal Patronage (ASA), Ikatan\nArsitek Indonesia (IAI), the University of Architecture Ho Chi Minh City\n(UAH), Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM), the Australian Chamber of\nCommerce, Singapore (AustCham Singapore), the Glenn Murcutt Architecture\nFoundation Australia, and ArchDaily. Architects from Indonesia,\nMalaysia, Thailand, and Vietnam are invited to submit completed projects\ndemonstrating innovation, sustainability, and design excellence through\nthe use of BlueScope steel solutions.<\/p>\n
The 2026 edition expands its partnerships across academia, industry,\nand media. Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) joins as a new academic\npartner, while the Glenn Murcutt Architecture Foundation Australia\ncontinues to share its perspective on environmentally responsive,\nclimate-sensitive, and place-based design. ArchDaily will further\namplify the global visibility of winning projects.<\/p>\n
This year\u2019s theme, Timeless Design with Coated Steel, highlights\narchitecture designed for long-term performance and relevant buildings\nthat respond to climate, culture, and context while supporting how\ncommunities live and work.<\/p>\n
\u201cTimeless design is not defined by aesthetics alone, but by how\narchitecture continues to perform, adapt, and respond to its environment\nand community over time,\u201d said Ar. Awards will be presented across four categories: Industrial,\nCommercial, Residential, and Institutional, Public & Others. Entries\nwill be assessed by a distinguished panel of judges: Ar. Geoff Croker,\nPrincipal, fjcstudio (Australia); Ar. Firman Setia Herwanto, Vice\nPresident of IAI (Indonesia); Ar. Dr.\u00a0Serina Hijjas, Principal, Hijjas\nKasturi Associates (Malaysia); Ar. Kulthida Songkittipakdee, Vice\nPresident of ASA, Principal Architect of Jenchieh Hung + Kulthida\nSongkittipakdee \/ HAS design and research (Thailand); and Ar. Dr.\u00a0Truong\nNguyen Hoang Long, Head of Environment and Sustainable Design,\nUniversity of Architecture Ho Chi Minh City (UAH) (Vietnam).<\/p>\n
The programme will progress through national selections before\nculminating in the ASEAN Awards Ceremony in Bangkok, Thailand, where\nwinners will be recognised as part of a broader regional dialogue on\ndesign, innovation, and community impact.<\/p>\n

ASEAN winners will receive a one-week learning and exchange visit to\nAustralia. Previous 2024 edition winners visited Sydney and Brisbane,\nengaging with leading architects, touring landmark projects, and\nattending the Australian Architecture Conference at the Sydney Opera\nHouse.<\/p>\n
