        "content": "<p>Several ministers from the Red-White Cabinet held a meeting at the\noffice of the Defence Ministry in Central Jakarta on Tuesday morning, 17\nMarch 2026.<\/p>\n<p>Deputy Minister of Defence Air Marshal (Ret.) Donny Ermawan Taufanto\nstated that the meeting was to follow up on an order from President\nPrabowo Subianto at a meeting in Hambalang, Bogor, West Java, on Sunday,\n8 March 2026. At that time, the meeting discussed various matters\nranging from developments in the Middle East situation to the\nconstruction of ten new campuses.<\/p>\n<p>Donny expressed hope that this meeting could reach a decision. \u201cWhat\nthe President expects must be implemented promptly and the time\navailable is very limited,\u201d he said when opening the meeting.<\/p>\n<p>Donny stated that the meeting was chaired by State Secretary Prasetyo\nHadi. The meeting was attended by Minister of Empowerment of State\nApparatus and Bureaucratic Reform Rini Widyantini, Minister of Primary\nand Secondary Education Abdul Mu\u2019ti, Minister of Higher Education,\nScience and Technology Brian Yuliarto, Minister of Marine Affairs and\nFisheries Sakti Wahyu Trenggono, Minister of Home Affairs Tito\nKarnavian, and Minister of Health Budi Gunadi Sadikin.<\/p>\n<p>The meeting was also attended by Deputy Minister of Cooperatives\nFarida Farichah, Head of the State Personnel Agency Zudan Arif\nFakrulloh, and Head of the Central Statistics Agency Amalia Adininggar\nWidyasanti.<\/p>\n<p>At the time of reporting, the meeting was still ongoing. Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra\nWijaya in his written statement explained that the Head of State led\nfive separate meetings from afternoon through evening.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOn Sunday afternoon through evening, President Prabowo Subianto held\n5 separate meetings calling several ministers from the Red-White Cabinet\nat his residence in Hambalang, Bogor, West Java, on 8 March 2026,\u201d said\nCabinet Secretary Teddy in his written statement.<\/p>\n<p>According to Teddy, in these several meetings President Prabowo\nrequested the latest reports regarding developments in various\ngovernment issues and strategic agendas, both domestically and in terms\nof international dynamics. The first issue discussed was the progress of\nconstruction of ten new campuses focused on strengthening the fields of\nscience and technology.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe progress of construction of 10 new campuses in the field of STEM\n(Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) as well as medical\neducation,\u201d explained Teddy.<\/p>\n<p>Furthermore, President Prabowo requested reports regarding efforts to\nimprove the quality of state universities so they could compete globally\nand expand cooperation with renowned universities worldwide. In that\nmeeting, Cabinet Secretary Teddy noted that President Prabowo also\ndiscussed developments in the international geopolitical situation,\nparticularly the dynamics in the Middle East region which are considered\nto have implications for global and regional conditions. \u201cThe\ndevelopment of the situation in the Middle East is connected with\ngeopolitical escalation in Indonesia,\u201d said Cabinet Secretary Teddy.<\/p>\n<p>Another topic also discussed in the meeting was the development of\neducational programmes for Palestinian students in Indonesia,\nparticularly those studying at the Defence University. According to\nTeddy, when serving as Defence Minister, since 2022 President Prabowo\nhas invited 20-40 Palestinian children to study in Indonesia, with the\nnumber now reaching nearly 200 students.<\/p>\n<p>Besides education and geopolitics issues, President Prabowo requested\nreports regarding government readiness in facing the anticipated\nincrease in the Eid holiday exodus in the near term. \u201cSecurity readiness\nand smooth travel preparations heading into the 10 days leading to Eid\nal-Fitr,\u201d said Teddy.<\/p>",
