        "content": "<p>Minister of State Secretary Prasetyo Hadi has announced that the\nemployment status of Government Employees with Work Agreements (PPPK)\nserving as teachers will be transferred to become central government\nemployees. The decision resulted from an agreement reached during a\nmeeting between the government and the House of Representatives (DPR RI)\nat the Parliament Complex in Jakarta on Tuesday (18\/8\/2026).<\/p>\n<p>Prasetyo explained that the measure was taken to provide certainty of\nstatus for teaching staff. \u201cWe jointly agreed that the employment status\nwill be moved to become central employees or central government\nemployees,\u201d he said after the meeting.<\/p>\n<p>Under the new policy scheme, there are two crucial points for PPPK\nteachers. The government is currently synchronising teacher employment\ndata comprehensively. Prasetyo stressed that resolving this issue\nrequires careful calculation from various aspects and cannot be done\npartially. In addition to coordinating with the legislature, the\ngovernment is also actively absorbing input from various teacher\nassociations.<\/p>\n<p>Regarding the budget, Finance Minister Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa confirmed\nthat the status transfer has undergone long-term budget requirement\nsimulations. He guaranteed that the policy would not disrupt national\nfiscal stability. \u201cThese measures are taken without endangering our\nfiscal condition. In 2027, the budget deficit will be maintained at 2.4\npercent,\u201d Purbaya stated.<\/p>\n<p>The government is said to be committed to finding the fastest\nsolution to the teacher employment issue while considering the state\u2019s\nfinancial condition and data validity in the field.
