Stage rallies without anarchy<\/p>\n

The government's decision to simultaneously hike the fuel and
\nutility prices has met with a strong reaction, not only from
\npoliticians but also from students, non-governmental
\norganizations, workers, businesspeople and public transportation
\ndrivers, all demanding that the government revoke its decision.<\/p>\n
Students have staged street rallies to express their opinions.
\nOur country's Law No. 9\/1998 on demonstrations, states that
\nholding street rallies is lawful here.<\/p>\n
I fully support the demonstrations, however, from what I have
\nobserved so far, protesters have gone a bit too far and tend to
\nbe anarchic during most of them.<\/p>\n
In some rallies, the students and protesters held fuel trucks
\nhostage and burned used tires on the streets. These actions
\ncertainly disrupt the traffic, harm businesses and eventually
\nmake us all unsympathetic toward their cause.<\/p>\n
Based on the above considerations, security officers must take
\nstrong action against demonstrators who do not go by the book.
\nAll people are equal before the law.<\/p>\n
