        "content": "<p>Sritex wins order from NATO<\/p>\n<p>JAKARTA (JP): Central Java textile maker PT Sritex has won a<br>\nRp 25 billion (US$10.87 million) contract to make 500,000<br>\nmilitary uniforms for the North Atlantic Treaty Organization<br>\n(NATO) starting this year, a company executive said.<\/p>\n<p>Sritex president Mohammad Lukminto said that during the first<br>\nstage his company would make standard military uniforms for<br>\nGermany.<\/p>\n<p>\"After this, we hope we will get more orders from other NATO-<br>\nmember countries,\" he said.<\/p>\n<p>Lukminto said it took two years to win the order and German<br>\nmilitary officials made several site inspections to check the<br>\ncompany's production facilities, product quality, labor<br>\nconditions, waste treatment, shipment procedures and other<br>\nthings.<\/p>\n<p>Lukminto said Sritex would have no trouble meeting NATO's<br>\nuniform requirements and said there would be a German<br>\nrepresentative posted here to ensure quality control.<\/p>\n<p>Lukminto said raw material for the uniforms would be imported<br>\nfrom Germany.<\/p>\n<p>In the first stage Sritex will make 500,000 uniforms worth Rp<br>\n25 billion. So far three containers of these uniforms have been<br>\nshipped to Germany.<\/p>\n<p>Sritex vice president Pramono said Sritex would soon make<br>\ntrousers and jackets to go with the uniforms in a separate<br>\ncontract yet to be signed.<\/p>\n<p>Sritex is in Central Java's Sukoharjo regency, near Solo.
