Squatters protest Mayor Sarimun<\/p>\n
JAKARTA: Hundreds of squatters staged a rally in front of West
\nJakarta Mayoralty on Monday, protesting Mayor Sarimun Hadisaputra
\nfor issuing an eviction order against them.<\/p>\n
The squatters claim the owner of the one-hectare plot next to
\nMal Taman Anggrek shopping center, Munawar Salbini, permitted
\nthem to occupy and cultivate the land.<\/p>\n
The mayor, upon the request of private firms PT Sinar Slipi
\nSejahtera, PT Bank Dewa Rudji and PT Surya Dewata, which have
\nclaimed the land, has issued three eviction orders, urging the
\nsquatters to vacate the plot.<\/p>\n
The squatters have vowed not to leave the land and have
\nignored the mayor's order, because they were there by permission
\nof the landowner, city news portal beritajakarta.com reported.<\/p>\n
Munawar and the private firms have been embroiled in a legal
\ndispute over the land, but it is unclear whether the issue has

TANGERANG: Tangerang Police have arrested a man for allegedly
\nproducing ecstasy pills at his home in Mekarsari subdistrict,
\nNeglasari district.<\/p>\n
Police apprehended the suspect, identified as Iwan Setiadi, on
\nSunday night and seized eight Ecstasy pills, raw chemical
\nmaterials and equipment to mold the pills.<\/p>\n
Iwan, 23, admitted the equipment was bought from his friend,
\nidentified as Jimy, who was still at large, and planned to
\nproduce the pills, which would be sold for Rp 60,000 (US$7) each.<\/p>\n
Tangerang Police narcotics division head Adj. Comr. Zaenuddin
\nsaid Monday that police were still hunting for Iwan's

BOGOR: Three junior high school students suffered serious
\ninjuries on Monday morning after they were hit by a truck on Jl.
\nRaya Lido, Bogor regency.<\/p>\n
The three students Beni, 12, Deni, 13, and Idris Sandi, 12,
\nare all from Pasir Buncir village, Caringin district, Bogor, and
\nstudents at Harapan Cijeruk junior high school.<\/p>\n
Eyewitness Sopandi said the three students were speeding on a
\nmotorcycle when Idris lost control and hit a Toyota Kijang van,
\nwhich quickly fled the scene of the accident when Deni was thrown
\nfrom the motorcycle. A truck approaching from the opposite
\ndirection then hit the motorcycle, seriously injuring Idris and
\nBeni.<\/p>\n
The three were rushed to Ciawi hospital, where they remain in
\ncritical condition.<\/p>\n
Ciawi Police are currently questioning the truck driver,
