        "content": "<p>JAKARTA - The Directorate General of Taxes (DJP) has noted a steady\nincrease in the submission of Annual Income Tax (PPh) Returns (SPT) as\nthe deadline approaches.<\/p>\n<p>Director of Education, Services, and Public Relations at DJP, Inge\nDiana Rismawanti, stated that as of 30 March 2026, the number of annual\nSPT submitted by taxpayers for the 2025 tax year reached 10,124,668\nreturns.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOf this total, 8,877,779 SPT were submitted by individual employee\ntaxpayers,\u201d she said in an official statement on Tuesday\n(31\/3\/2026).<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, for taxpayers with different fiscal years who began\nreporting from 1 August 2025, 1,795 corporate returns in rupiah and 22\ncorporate returns in foreign currency were recorded.<\/p>\n<p>On the other hand, DJP has also recorded a significant increase in\nCoretax account activations as part of the digital transformation of tax\nservices.<\/p>\n<p>As of the same period, the number of taxpayers who have activated\ntheir DJP Coretax accounts reached 17,367,922 accounts.<\/p>\n<p>This increase in SPT reporting and Coretax activations demonstrates\nthe widening adoption of digital tax services by the public.<\/p>\n<p>DJP continues to encourage taxpayers to utilise digital channels to\nfacilitate swift and efficient tax compliance.<\/p>\n<p>It should be noted that taxpayers who are late in submitting their\nSPT or fail to submit them at all may face administrative sanctions up\nto criminal penalties.<\/p>\n<p>Under the regulations, administrative sanctions in the form of fines\nare stipulated in Article 7(1). The amount of fines imposed on taxpayers\nwho do not submit SPT includes the following:<\/p>\n<p>In addition to fine sanctions, taxpayers proven to have not submitted\nSPT correctly may also face criminal sanctions in accordance with\napplicable laws and regulations.<\/p>\n<p>Therefore, the Directorate General of Taxes urges the public not to\ndelay SPT reporting and to promptly fulfil their tax obligations before\nthe stipulated deadline.<\/p>",
