        "content": "<p>The Ministry of Defence has confirmed that one participant of the\nSarjana Penggerak Pembangun Indonesia (SPPI) KNMP 2026 programme, Novia\nRahmadhani Sihotang, died while attending basic military training at the\nSatdik Pusbahasa Kodiklatau in Jakarta. Novia was pronounced dead on\nTuesday (23\/6) after receiving medical treatment for a health disorder.\n\u201cIt is true, the Ministry of Defence has received a report regarding the\ndeath of one of the SPPI KNMP Programme participants for 2026, named\nNovia Rahmadhani Sihotang, who was undergoing education at Satdik\nPusbahasa Kodiklatau Jakarta. The Ministry of Defence expresses its\ndeepest condolences to the family of the deceased,\u201d said Brigadier\nGeneral TNI Rico Ricardo Sirait, Head of the Defence Information Bureau\nof the Ministry of Defence Secretariat General, in a statement in\nJakarta on Wednesday. Rico stated that Novia experienced a health\ndisorder during the basic military training on Monday (22\/6). As her\ncondition deteriorated, Novia was rushed to the Air Force Hospital Dr\nEsnawan Antariksa for medical care. Despite receiving intensive\ntreatment, Novia\u2019s condition reportedly continued to decline until she\nwas finally pronounced dead on Tuesday (23\/6). \u201cBased on the results of\nthe medical examination, the health disorder experienced was related to\nTuberculosis (TB),\u201d Rico said. According to Rico, all basic military\ntraining participants, including Novia, had undergone health tests to\nensure physical readiness before attending the education. The Ministry\nof Defence also stated that medical treatment had been carried out\naccording to standards for participants who fell ill during the\neducation period. Nevertheless, the Ministry of Defence confirmed that\nan evaluation of the basic military training education system is still\nbeing conducted for the safety and security of participants. \u201cCurrently,\nthe Ministry of Defence, together with the National Selection Committee\nand education providers, continues to evaluate and strengthen health\nsupervision of participants to ensure that the safety and health of\nparticipants remain the top priority in the implementation of the\nprogramme,\u201d Rico explained. The death of Novia adds to the list of SPPI\nparticipants who have died while attending basic military training.\nPreviously, two participants of the SPPI Programme, who were being\nprepared to become managers of the Merah Putih Village\/Sub-district\nCooperatives and Merah Putih Fishermen\u2019s Villages, also died. The two\nparticipants were Anisa Muyassaroh and Yonanda Muhammad Taufiq. Rico\nexplained that Anisa died from heat stroke while attending education at\nSatdik Dodikjur Rindam VI\/Mulawarman in Balikpapan. Meanwhile, Yonanda\nMuhammad Taufiq died while attending education at Satdik Pusat Latihan\nTempur Kodiklatad Baturaja.
