The Free Nutritious Meal Program (MBG) through the Nutritional
Fulfillment Service Unit (SPPG) IV of the Buleleng Police was
inaugurated on Saturday, May 16, 2026. The unit, under the auspices of
the Kemala Bhayangkari Foundation, is prepared to serve 2,985
beneficiaries in Kubutambahan District.

Buleleng Police Chief AKBP Ruzi Gusman said that SPPG IV is still
waiting for budget disbursement from the National Nutrition Agency (BGN)
before it can operate fully. However, his team will immediately begin a
trial distribution of nutritious meals to approximately 1,300
beneficiaries.

“The number of beneficiaries is around 2,985 people, or almost 3,000.
Because it is not yet fully operational, in the initial stage we will
conduct a trial distribution for about 1,300 beneficiaries,” said Ruzi
after the inauguration.

Ruzi explained that the target of the MBG program is not only school
students from elementary to high school levels. The program also targets
vulnerable groups such as nursing mothers, the elderly, and other
communities in need of nutritional support.

“The beneficiaries are not only schoolchildren, but also nursing
mothers, the elderly, and other people in need. In Kubutambahan, it
covers everyone,” he said.

According to Ruzi, the MBG program is not only focused on fulfilling
nutritional needs, but is also designed to stimulate the local economy.
The provision of food ingredients involves traditional markets,
village-owned enterprises (BUMDes), and local MSMEs.

“We involve our MSMEs, BUMDes as well. So it’s not just about
nutritious meals, but this program is also expected to be able to boost
the local community’s economy,” he added.

In addition, the recruitment of workers and food distribution are
prioritized for people in the surrounding area. This scheme is expected
to have a ripple effect on improving the welfare of residents around the
MBG kitchen.

“Everything is synergized. MSMEs are running, BUMDes are running,
local labor is absorbed. Hopefully, the benefits will not only be felt
by those who receive the food, but also by the wider community,” he
explained.

Regarding the possibility of adding the number of SPPGs in Buleleng,
Ruzi said that this would still depend on the needs of beneficiaries and
the availability of funds. Currently, his focus is on ensuring that the
six SPPGs that have been built in Buleleng can operate optimally.

“If there is a need and funding is available, it can certainly be
added. But now our focus is on maintaining the quality of the existing
six SPPGs so that they truly become a model,” he said.

Ruzi ensured that food safety aspects are the main concern in the
operation of the SPPG. The Buleleng Police has partnered with
nutritionists and the Dokkes team to ensure that the distributed food is
safe, hygienic, and meets health standards.

“We want this to be truly high quality. We don’t want good intentions
to build human resources through a nutritious meal program to cause
problems due to negligence,” he concluded.

The inauguration of SPPG IV Buleleng was carried out by the Deputy
Chief of Bali Police, Brigadier General I Made Astawa. In his speech,
Astawa said that the construction of the SPPG is a long-term investment
towards the vision of Golden Indonesia 2045.

“We want to ensure that Indonesian children do not grow up in
conditions of malnutrition so that they can learn with healthy bodies
and strong minds,” said Astawa.

According to Astawa, the existence of SPPG Buleleng IV is a strategic
step to strengthen nutritional fulfillment services for communities in
North Bali.

“We hope that this SPPG will become a role model for professional,
accountable, and quality-oriented nutrition services,” he said.

In addition to inaugurating the SPPG, the Bali Police also held a
second-quarter corn harvest in Sambangan Village, Buleleng. The activity
is part of the Polri’s food security program which is carried out
simultaneously throughout Indonesia.

The Head of Public Relations of the Bali Police, Commissioner
Ariasandy, said that the corn harvest and inauguration of the SPPG were
carried out together with a national agenda that was connected virtually
with the President of the Republic of Indonesia.

“Today there is a second-quarter corn harvest simultaneously
throughout Indonesia, then the inauguration of several SPPGs which are
also held simultaneously. Incidentally, for Bali it is centered in
Buleleng,” said Ariasandy.

According to him, the food security program will continue in the next
quarter by involving all districts/cities in Bali. Corn commodities were
chosen as one of the focus areas for development because they are
considered to have the potential to support regional food needs.
",
