S'porean to hang for wife's murder<\/p>\n
SINGAPORE: A website designer, who recruited a 15-year-old boy at
\na McDonald's restaurant in Singapore to kill his estranged wife,
\nwas on Wednesday sentenced to death.<\/p>\n
Anthony Ler, 34, was sentenced by a high court judge to die by
\nhanging after it was "proven beyond doubt" that he instigated his
\nwife's murder in May.<\/p>\n
Ler, who separated from his wife three years ago, had offered
\nto pay the boy S$100,000 (US$54,000) in installments and had
\ntrained him to kill using a kitchen knife and a bolster, the
\ncourt was told.<\/p>\n
Annie Leong Wai Muen, a 30-year-old insurance agent and mother
\nof a four-year-old girl, died from multiple stab wounds after Ler
\nlured her out of her apartment on the pretext of signing some
\ndocuments.<\/p>\n
The boy, who was also found guilty of carrying out the murder,
\nwas ordered to be detained at a rehabilitation center until he is
