        "content": "<p>S&apos;pore to study Indonesian fires<\/p>\n<p>SINGAPORE (DPA): A team of Singapore scientists, known for<br>\ntheir earlier satellite crime-busting work, are setting their<br>\nsights on Indonesia&apos;s notorious forest fires, reports said<br>\nyesterday.<\/p>\n<p>The Center for Remote Imaging, Sensing and Protesting (CRISP)<br>\ngained fame a year ago when its scientists used satellite photos<br>\nto prove an oil tanker was the source of a 5 kilometer oil slick<br>\nin Singapore waters.<\/p>\n<p>It was the first time remote imaging satellite pictures were<br>\nadmissible as evidence in court, CRISP director Lim Hock said.<\/p>\n<p>The 30-member CRISP team has already collected strong evidence<br>\nthat the Indonesian fires, which cloaked most of Southeast Asia<br>\nin dense smoke for the past two months, were being set<br>\ndeliberately for the purpose of clearing land.<\/p>",
