        "content": "<p>S'pore mulls FTA with China<\/p>\n<p>SINGAPORE: Singapore will consider negotiating a bilateral free<br>\ntrade agreement with China if other countries in the Association<br>\nof Southeast Asian Nations, or Asean, proceed to do so, Deputy<br>\nPrime Minister Lee Hsien Loong said in local news reports.<\/p>\n<p>The Business Times and Straits Times report Lee saying that<br>\nthe proposed umbrella agreement for a free trade zone between<br>\nChina and Asean, currently being discussed, would also allow<br>\nindividual countries to work out separate bilateral trade deals<br>\nwith Beijing.<\/p>\n<p>Lee made those comments at a forum in Washington D.C.<br>\nAsean comprises Cambodia, Brunei, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia,<br>\nMyanmar, Singapore, Thailand, Vietnam and the Philippines.--Dow<br>\nJones<\/p>",
