        "content": "<p>S'pore manufacturing grows<\/p>\n<p>SINGAPORE (AFP): Singapore's manufacturing output grew by 14.2<br>\npercent in November last year compared to the previous year,<br>\nboosted by higher growth in its electronics, machinery and<br>\nindustrial chemicals industries.<\/p>\n<p>The electronics sector grew by 23.1 percent on strong demand<br>\nfrom the United States for disk drives, semiconductors and<br>\nconsumer electronics, a statement from the Economic Development<br>\nBoard (EDB) said.<\/p>\n<p>Output of machinery grew 31.9 percent in November while the<br>\nindustrial chemicals sector was up by 41.2 percent.<\/p>\n<p>Cumulative manufacturing output for January to November 1994<br>\nwent up by 13.1 percent over the same period the previous year,<br>\nsaid the EDB.<\/p>",
