        "content": "<p>S'pore investment in China<\/p>\n<p>BEIJING (AFP): Singapore has become the fifth largest investor<br>\nin China, pumping more than US$1.3 billion into the country in<br>\nthe first half of 1994, a report said yesterday.<\/p>\n<p>Actual Singaporean investment in China totaled $1.321 billion<br>\nin the first six months, with the number of Singapore-funded<br>\nprojects more than doubling to 3,834, compared to 1,751 in 1993,<br>\nthe Xinhua news agency said.<\/p>\n<p>The figure ranks Singapore as China's fifth largest investor,<br>\nbehind Hong Kong, Taiwan, Japan and the United States.<\/p>\n<p>Some 80 percent of Singaporean investment is in the real<br>\nestate sector, including industrial parks, office buildings,<br>\napartments, hotels and commercial centers.<\/p>",
