S'pore boy admits to raping maid<\/p>\n
SINGAPORE (AFP): A 14-year-old Singaporean has admitted raping
\nhis family's 15-year-old Indonesian maid after getting her drunk
\non premium cognac, the Straits Times reported Saturday.<\/p>\n
The boy admitted in a High Court hearing Friday he gave the
\nmaid a cup of cognac to drink one night last January, which
\nknocked her out, the newspaper said.<\/p>\n
He later sneaked into a bedroom where the maid was sleeping
\nwith his five-year-old sister, stripped the maid of her
\nunderwear, put on a condom taken from his parents' wardrobe, and
\nstarted raping her, the court was told.<\/p>\n
When the maid awoke in pain, he put her clothes back on and
\nleft the room. She reported the incident to the Indonesian
\nembassy and the Singapore police.<\/p>\n
The boy said he was told by a previous lawyer to lie by
\ntelling the court the maid had consented to have sex with him,
\nbut he felt guilty and eventually confessed to the crime.<\/p>\n
His present lawyer told the court that the boy, the eldest
\nchild of fishmongers, was a well-behaved student who gave in to
\npubescent sexual urges.<\/p>\n
The judge, who called for a pre-sentence report on the boy,
\nasked state prosecutors to look into the previous lawyer's
\nbehavior and \"if necessary refer the matter to the Law Society
\nfor the attempt to pervert the course of justice,\" the report
\nsaid.<\/p>",
