The incident left one passenger dead.<\/p>\n<p>Head of the Banyuasin Police\u2019s Water Police Unit, Ajun Komisaris\nPolisi Ammukminin, confirmed the accident. \u201cYes, a speedboat accident\noccurred in the Muara Telang waters. For the full data on victims and\nthe detailed chronology, we are still awaiting data from the Water\nPolice Unit of Polda Sumsel,\u201d he said on Friday, 6 March 2026.<\/p>\n<p>According to information gathered, the speedboat, owned by Haras\nGroup, was crossing the Muara Telang waters when suddenly a large wave\nstruck the hull. The collision caused the speedboat to break apart and\nsink, triggering panic among the passengers. Local residents and other\npassengers attempted rescue as the vessel began to founder.<\/p>\n<p>One passenger, named Daryanti (55), a resident of RT 18 Dusun IV,\nTelang Jaya Village, Muara Telang District, could not be saved.
