Special treatment for traffic in Puncak<\/p>\n
BOGOR, West Java (JP): Six hundred police and 300 people from
\nthe Scout movement, the military and youth organizations will be
\ndeployed to manage traffic to the Puncak resort on New Year's
\nEve.<\/p>\n
Bogor Police Chief Lt. Col. Ruslan Riza said most of the 900
\npersonnel would be at Puncak where thousands are expected to
\nflock to motels, villas and other entertainment centers.<\/p>\n
Police are providing five stops. These are at Evergreen Villa,
\nTelaga Warna, Mega Mendung, Simpang Safari and Riung Gunung
\nhotels.<\/p>\n
"Holiday revelers can report anything about their security to
\nthe police stops," Ruslan said.<\/p>\n
Two other stops would be opened by the youth organizations and
\nScouts. These are at Gunung Mas and the Gadok crossing to help
\nholidaymakers with first aid and traffic information, Ruslan
\nsaid.<\/p>\n
Ruslan could not say how many cars would enter the Puncak
\nresort area on New Year's Eve but said public buses going to
\nBandung would be detoured through Sukabumi or Jonggol. (24)<\/p>",
