Special carriages for elderly, children<\/p>\n
YOGYAKARTA: The local office of the state railway company
\nPerumka will provide special carriages for the elderly and
\nchildren under five years of age during the Idul Fitri holiday.<\/p>\n
Antara quoted spokesman Purnomo as saying yesterday the
\ncompany will assign one or two carriages in the economy section
\nof trains leaving the Lempuyangan station here for elderly people
\nand children under five.<\/p>\n
He said Perumka is anticipating a hike in the number of
\npassengers returning to Jakarta and other major cities in Java
\nafter the holiday.<\/p>\n
\"Huge numbers of passengers bound for Jakarta, Bandung, and
\nSurabaya usually flood the Lempuyangan station after Idul Fitri,\"
\nhe said.<\/p>\n
He said the local Perumka office will provide 19 trains with a
\ntotal 153 carriages for the Idul Fitri holiday. It will also give
\ndiscounts of up to 20 percent for economy class passengers.<\/p>\n
He said the company has decided that the Lempuyangan railway
\nstation will only accommodate economy class trains while the Tugu
\nrailway station will accommodate business and executive class
