The Ministry of Culture (Kemenbud) is strengthening the cultural\necosystem at Taman Mini Indonesia Indah (TMII) through collaboration\nwith the site\u2019s managers. One of the steps being prepared is the\norganisation of the Pradana Nitya Budaya awards on 1 May 2026 to\nencourage improvements in the quality of regional pavilion management\nwhile accelerating the revitalisation of cultural functions at TMII.<\/p>\n
This was conveyed during a strategic discussion between the Minister\nof Culture of the Republic of Indonesia, Fadli Zon, and the board of\ndirectors of PT Bhumi Visatanda Indonesia, the managers of TMII, at the\nMinistry of Culture\u2019s office. In the meeting, it was mentioned that the\nawards given last year had proven to have an impact on improving\ngovernance, human resource quality, service standards, cultural\nprogrammes, physical building management, and cross-sector\ncollaboration.<\/p>\n
Fadli emphasised the importance of synergy between the central\ngovernment and regions to strengthen the function of the pavilions as a\nnational cultural showcase. According to him, the Ministry of Culture is\npushing for the revitalisation of regional pavilions so that they truly\nrepresent the culture of each province.<\/p>\n
He also highlighted the need for reformulating museum financing\npolicies to make them more sustainable. Currently, he said, the\ngovernment is formulating policies related to the museum ticketing\nsystem to maintain operational sustainability.<\/p>\n
\u201cThrough the \u2018Indonesia Raya\u2019 assistance fund programme, the\ngovernment is also providing support to cultural communities and\npavilion managers to develop public space-based programmes. This\nassistance is programme-oriented and aimed at sustainable activities,\nnot routine operations. Proposal submissions are expected to be\nstructured and coordinated to encourage the creation of sustainable and\nwidely impactful cultural programmes for society,\u201d said Fadli, in a\nwritten statement on Friday (17\/4\/2026).<\/p>\n
As part of long-term strengthening, Fadli also conveyed plans to\ndevelop human resources through cultural institutions, particularly via\neducation programmes, including the preparation of a postgraduate\ncurriculum focused on culture.<\/p>\n
\u201cPlans to establish a Master\u2019s or postgraduate programme in cultural\narts at Taman Mini Indonesia Indah will be further discussed in\ncoordination with cultural arts institutions,\u201d Fadli concluded.<\/p>\n
On the other hand, Acting Director General of PT Bhumi Visatanda\nIndonesia, Ratri Paramita, said that a series of preparations had begun\nsince mid-March. These preparations include socialisation, material\npreparation, as well as selection and assessment processes that have\nbeen ongoing since the previous year.<\/p>\n
\u201cVarious cultural activation programmes continue to be intensified in\nthe Taman Mini area through the \u2018Pertamanan Kaya Budaya\u2019 initiative and\nthe launch of the Sampurian programme from West Java,\u201d she\nexplained.<\/p>\n
Ratri added that throughout March to April, various activities have\nbeen and will be held, ranging from art installations, dance\nperformances from 34 provinces, the ICP Nusantara free ticket programme,\nkecak performances, immersive rooms themed on Jakarta, music\nperformances, video mapping, to the thematic programme Experience Bali\nin a Day. According to her, collaborations are also being conducted with\nseveral parties, including Sarinah, to support the promotion of regional\nSMEs and the strengthening of event production.<\/p>\n
The Pradana Nitya Budaya awards are expected not only to serve as a\nform of appreciation but also as the main driver of the cultural\necosystem in the regions. The Ministry of Culture encourages each\npavilion to present original programmes drawn from the cultural\nstrengths of their respective regions.<\/p>\n
