Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez\ndescribed the situation in his country as quite dramatic. \u201cWe are facing\na distressing situation; not only in various provinces in Spain, but\nalso in regions of neighbouring countries,\u201d Sanchez wrote on platform X.\nSanchez convened a meeting of the State Coordination Committee for\nEmergency Situations on Friday to discuss the development of the forest\nfires. A state of emergency has been declared in the autonomous region\nof Madrid and the Province of Avila due to the spread of the forest\nfires. More than 10,000 people have been evacuated across the Madrid\nregion. In the autonomous region of Castile and Leon, nine fire points\nare still burning, four of which are quite serious.
