Weather in a number of areas of Southeast Sulawesi (Sultra) on\nThursday has the potential to cause hydrometeorological disasters,\nincluding floods, waterlogging, landslides, and fallen trees. A forecaster from the Kendari Maritime Meteorology Station stated\nthat extreme weather in the form of moderate to heavy rain, potentially\naccompanied by thunder and strong winds, is anticipated from midday\nuntil the early hours of the morning. During the afternoon and evening,\nareas that need to be on alert for moderate to heavy rain include\nKonawe, South Konawe, Kolaka, East Kolaka, Bombana, Buton, and North\nButon Regencies. Meanwhile, other areas such as Kendari City, North\nKonawe, North Kolaka, West Muna, Baubau, Central Buton, and South Buton\nare forecast to experience light rain.<\/p>\n
Entering the nighttime, heavy rain potential is predicted to occur in\nthe Konawe and North Konawe regions. In the early hours, residents in\nSouth Konawe, Konawe Islands, and North Buton are advised to be more\nalert, according to the forecaster. The BMKG had also monitored the\ngrowth of light rain clouds during the morning across most of Southeast\nSulawesi, including Kendari, Muna, West Muna, and the Wakatobi\nIslands.<\/p>\n
Based on weather parameters, air temperatures in Southeast Sulawesi\nrange from 24 to 32 degrees Celsius. Air humidity is recorded between 60\nand 95 per cent, with winds blowing from the northeast towards the\nsoutheast at speeds of up to 20 kilometres per hour. The BMKG has urged\nthe public to anticipate the impacts of extreme weather, particularly\nthose living on slopes, riverbanks, low-lying areas, and regions with\nmany large trees.
