        "content": "<p>KONAWE \u2014 The Regional Office of the Directorate General of\nImmigration for Southeast Sulawesi, together with the Kendari Class I\nImmigration Office, carried out data collection and surveillance of\nforeign nationals at PT Obsidian Stainless Steel (OSS) and PT Virtue\nDragon Nickel Industry (VDNI) in Konawe Regency, Southeast Sulawesi, on\nTuesday to Wednesday, 15\u201316 April 2025.<\/p>\n<p>The operation formed part of efforts to intensify immigration\noversight of foreign nationals\u2019 presence and activities within the\noffice\u2019s jurisdiction, particularly in strategic industrial zones such\nas PT OSS and PT VDNI.<\/p>\n<p>The joint team was led directly by the heads of both the Regional\nImmigration Office for Southeast Sulawesi and the Kendari Class I\nImmigration Office, supported by their respective staff.<\/p>\n<p>Kendari Immigration Office Head Muhammad Novrian Jaya explained that\nthe operation aimed to ensure compliance with immigration regulations,\nparticularly regarding the completeness of residence permit documents\nand the activities of foreign workers at both companies.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIn addition to data collection, we also provided education and\ndissemination regarding the latest immigration regulations and the\nobligation to report foreign nationals\u2019 presence through the Foreign\nNationals Reporting Application (APOA) by their sponsors,\u201d Novrian\nsaid.<\/p>\n<p>The data collection results showed that all foreign workers at PT OSS\nand PT VDNI held valid residence permits corresponding to the type of\nactivities they were undertaking. The management of both companies also\nexpressed their commitment to continued coordination with immigration\nauthorities and active reporting of foreign workers\u2019 presence, including\nkeeping abreast of immigration regulation developments on a regular\nbasis.<\/p>\n<p>The operation represents a preventive measure to maintain orderly\nconditions regarding foreign workers within the Kendari Class I\nImmigration Office\u2019s jurisdiction, whilst simultaneously supporting\ninvestment growth and economic advancement in Southeast Sulawesi.<\/p>\n<p>The Kendari Class I Immigration Office will continue to conduct\nregular data collection and surveillance of foreign workers within its\narea of responsibility.<\/p>",
