        "content": "<p>Chengdu, China (ANTARA) - At the recently held China Smart Energy\nConference 2026 in Chengdu, Sichuan Province, China, officials and\nbusinesspeople from ASEAN countries and China discussed cooperation on\nsmart energy solutions that could be applied across Southeast Asia.<\/p>\n<p>The conference aimed to harness digital technology to improve the\ncapacity for utilising new energy and to support the development of\nregional power grids.<\/p>\n<p>Among those in attendance was Kiwi Aliwarga, an Indonesian\nentrepreneur from the technology company IdeaLLab.<\/p>\n<p>According to Kiwi, Indonesia faces a number of natural constraints in\nbuilding an integrated energy and electricity supply network that must\nspan so many islands, which is why energy digitalisation has become a\nfocus for the relevant industries in Indonesia.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAs digital technology development has grown rapidly in Indonesia in\nrecent years, the country faces a great need for clean and stable energy\nsupplies. We feel that the technologies and solutions showcased by\nChinese companies offer fresh ideas for Indonesian industry,\u201d said\nKiwi.<\/p>\n<p>Kiwi held discussions with potential partners at various exhibition\nstands about smart energy platforms, energy storage systems and advanced\nenergy management software, as well as the possibility of deploying them\nin Indonesia. He also expressed hope that his company could establish\npartnerships with counterparts in China.<\/p>\n<p>Several industry experts participating in the event said the\nrelationship between energy systems and artificial intelligence (AI) has\nshifted from a model of \u201cAI empowering energy\u201d to one of \u201cmutual\nempowerment between the two\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>This is because a number of Chinese smart energy solutions have\nevolved from single innovations into full value chains encompassing\nelectricity generation, transmission, distribution and consumption, with\nthe potential to lower electricity costs while raising the level of\nintelligence, digitalisation and energy efficiency.<\/p>\n<p>Echoing Kiwi, Brian James Lu of the Association for Philippines-China\nUnderstanding (APCU) highlighted the future potential of smart energy\ntechnology.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cEnergy costs in the Philippines are among the highest in the ASEAN\nregion, and many companies are actively exploring smarter and more\nsustainable solutions. This could help bring down electricity costs and,\nin turn, enhance the competitiveness of businesses,\u201d said Lu.<\/p>",
