The Communications and Informatics Office (Diskominfo) of the South\nTangerandal Government has partnered with the Gerakan Pejuang Shubuh\n(GPS) Tangsel to launch the GPS Digital Academy & Innovation Center.\nThis programme is designed as a platform for free technology training\nfor mosque youths to expand an inclusive smart city ecosystem directly\nfrom the grassroots level.<\/p>\n
Within the academy programme, participants will be equipped with\nvarious cutting-edge digital skills, ranging from digital content\ncreation and programming classes (coding) to an introduction to\nArtificial Intelligence (AI) and the utilisation of coworking\nspaces.<\/p>\n
The Head of Diskominfo South Tangerang, TB Asep Nurdin, emphasised\nthat the local government is fully committed to facilitating the\nnecessary network infrastructure to support the smooth execution of the\nentire end-to-end learning process.<\/p>\n
\u201cFast internet access and technical support will be ensured to flow\nto the central training points so that coding classes and AI\nintroduction materials can run without technical obstacles. For us at\nDiskominfo, the mosque is a very strategic social node,\u201d said Asep on\nThursday (25\/6\/2026).<\/p>\n
In response to the high enthusiasm for registrations via digital\nchannels, Diskominfo is encouraging the curriculum to have clear Key\nPerformance Indicators (KPI) that align with current digital industry\nneeds.<\/p>\n
The local government hopes that the output of this training will not\nmerely remain ceremonial. Digital content creator graduates are expected\nto be able to produce positive public narratives, while coding and AI\nclass participants are expected to contribute to solving local problems\nwithin their environments.<\/p>\n
The Chairman of GPS Tangsel, Ustaz Muhammad Sartono, added that this\ntransformation aims to restore the function of the mosque as a centre\nfor civilisation and modern human resource development.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe mosque is not just a centre for worship. Through this programme,\nwe want to present a generation of mosque-goers who are tech-savvy,\nproductive, and capable of providing broader benefits to society,\u201d said\nSartono.<\/p>\n
Long-term Targets and Integration of Public\nServices<\/strong><\/p>\n Diskominfo Tangsel is also opening long-term opportunities for the\nbest graduates of this community academy. They will be directed to\nparticipate in developing innovative ideas that can be synergised\ndirectly with various public service applications owned by the South\nTangerang City Government to reduce the digital divide.<\/p>\n Regarding the grand launch targeted to take place within the next two\nweeks, Diskominfo has signalled a positive plan for the presence of the\nMayor of South Tangerang, Benyamin Davnie, to officially inaugurate the\nprogramme.<\/p>\n \u201cThrough this partnership, the South Tangerang City Government hopes\nthat the GPS Digital Academy & Innovation Center can serve as a\npilot project that can be replicated by other community groups.
